Heritage Held

This series of digital sketches is both personal and collective in nature, rooted in my journey to Montserrat — my second home and the heart of my heritage.
The island’s dramatic landscapes, shaped by both beauty and devastation, and its powerful cultural moments, carved itself into my sense of place. Through these works, I’ve tried to hold onto the raw emotion, memory, and meaning of ‘home’ — seen through the lens of its natural environment.

Each piece weaves together the wild textures of the land with architectural or communal traces…from the quiet rest of a shoreline to the looming volcano behind strings of party flags. The loose, sketch-like lines echo the emotional incompleteness of the places we carry: spaces marked by change, loss, resilience, and beauty.
